Maverick and Star

 Maverick and Star have been working on their AKC Scent work and they are doing great. Maverick has completed his AKC Scent working title of Excellent and is now working on his Master title. Star has been working on her Novice title. She has earned her container novice, interior novice and buried novice and has one more pass of exterior to receive her AKC Scent work Novice title. K and R Midnight Star AKC Scent Work

Here is another update from our fall activities. We have also been doing some Scent work with Star. She has a great nose and loves to work. She is very new to this work and is doing very well. She started in July with learning how Scent Detection works and is currently working on her AKC Novice Scent Detection Title. She has a couple more runs to do to get her title. She has 12 searches in total for her Novice and has completed 10 of those 12. She has her buried and exterior to finish. We are very proud of how quickly she is learning and how well she is doing.

 

K and R Grizzly's Got Grit

 This is Griz and he is 7 months old and is a available as a Green Scent Detection dog. He would also make a great candidate for a hunting dog or hunting competitions. He has lots of drive and loves to work. Loves to retrieve and has lots of prey drive and toy possession. For any information on Griz please contact us with questions.

Advance AKC Scent Detection Title and Achievements

Still playing catch up here is another quick update. Here is Maverick with his Advanced AKC Scent Detection Title and achievements. To get his Advanced Scent Title he needed to do 4 elements buried, container, exterior, and interior. He needed to do 3 of each of those elements. So he did 12 in total for his Advance Title. He has been working hard and is so fun to watch when he is searching.

Maverick AKC Novice Scent Detection Title and Novice Achievements

 Playing catch up on events that we have been a part of this fall. Here is Maverick and his achievements and Title for AKC Novice Scent Detection work. For his Novice title he had to do 3 searches of Buried, Interior, Exterior, and Container 12 searches in all. Maverick also got High in Title for being the fastest in all four elements one day of the trial.

Want to thank the Bellevue Dog Obedience Club of Nebraska and Fargo Moorhead Kennel Club. What a great group of people, made some friends, got great advice and had a great time with both clubs. Thanks for putting on these events!!

Available Puppies

The first week of May owners will be making their picks on the puppies that have put a deposit down.  We will have 3 puppies available after they make their picks. It will either be 2 males and one female, or it will be 2 females and one male. If you are interested in a puppy from one of our 2 litters please feel free to contact us and we can give you more information or to let us know what puppy you are looking for in case it is available after the owners have made their picks we can contact you. We are starting a waiting lists and will start at the top of the list when puppies are available.

Available Puppies

Currently on our litters we have 5 puppies available. We know for sure we have a chocolate male and female available from our all chocolate litter. There is a male available from our black and yellow litter but it will be determined in 4 weeks what color is available. The other 3 are to be determined in the next 4 weeks. In the next 4 weeks owners that have put down deposits will start to make their picks in the order of the deposits. Once the picks have been made I will then know what 3 puppies will be available.  We give owners until the puppies are six weeks of age to make their picks so that they can see the personality, temperament, and drive of the puppies. In the 2 litters we currently have some owners have put 2 deposits down so they can find what they are looking for in a dog. This is why I will not know what the last 3 puppies will be, male or female, black, yellow or chocolate, until they have been picked. Here at K and R Labradors we feel it is important for the puppies to be with the right owner that fits them. This is why we wait so long for owners to make their picks. If you have any questions on our available puppies please feel free to contact us. We will be happy to answer your questions.

1 chocolate female out of all chocolate litter

1 chocolate male out of all chocolate litter

1 male will be yellow or black out of our black and yellow litter (after picks have been made in several weeks.)

The other puppies that will be available will be announced in 4 weeks.

Maverick is a Scent Detection Candidate-Green. He is ready for his next level of training and is available at this time. He is a year old and is a part of the AKC Patriotic Puppy Program. Here are some photos of him outside doing some scent work.

With the weather being cold here in South Dakota we decided to do some searching in the house to over come the boredom. First search shows Maverick marking the scent which is a kong he plays with. The second mark is more visible to Maverick but it is to show he doesn’t mind climbing up on things to get what he is after. We also searched some rooms with no reward toy. Maverick is being sold as a Scent Detection Candidate.  Maverick is a 11 month old chocolate male. He is a part of the AKC Patriotic Puppy Program. He is currently working on scent detection and is open to any scents. He has lots of toy drive, environmentally sound, and loves to work. His Sire and Dam have good hips and elbows, clear on EIC, CNM, PRA. Planning 2020 litters

We are currently planning our 2020 litters. Our first two litters will be in the spring and we will have one in the fall. For more information on our litters you can click on the litter tab. we you will see pictures of the Sires and Dams. Sire and Dam's pedigrees and health information can be found on the tabs Sire, Dams. The litters this spring will be a all chocolate litter and a all black litter.
